Summer 2023 Drawing Workshops with Joan E Archer

Beginning July 12, 2023, Joan is offering six weeks of drawing classes in Edmonds. The emphasis is on plein aire sketching; we’ll be visiting the Edmonds waterfront, the nearby marshlands, with some attention given to working from the model (maybe inside the studio) and other surprises!

Fees: $280 for six classes

What You’ll Need: 

  • A sun hat?
  • Drawing pad or paper, at least 16” x 20”;
  • #2 pencils;
  • kneaded eraser;
  • charcoal sticks;
  • chamois cloth;
  • wipes, for your hands

If you are unable to make it to your Reserved Workshop Spot, we have a 5 day cancellation policy. Those cancelling prior to 5 days will receive a full-refund. Failure to give proper cancellation notice will result in a refund of 50%.

Joan offers group and private classes in watercolor and oil. Classes take place in the sunny, from-room of Aria Studio Gallery. The atmosphere is relaxed, and supportive, giving each student the best environment for learning.

Joan has been an instructor in watercolor painting for over 30 years. “Teaching painting to others has been a life-long privilege. It’s rewarding to share with others, and I, also, learn a great deal from my students”.
